Apart From Christ I Can Do Nothing
A Personal Relationship with Jesus Is Imperative NOW and for Eternal Life
As the final hours of 2025 draw to a close, my greatest desire for you in 2026, if you have already not done this, is to repent of your sins, and ask Jesus Christ to become your Lord and Savior.
This indisputably was the most important decision of my life, and it will be yours too. Without Jesus in your life, you will continue to struggle with your sinful nature and desires; that will only lead you down the path of more misery and unfulfillment.
On August 27, 1995, I asked Jesus into my life and became “born again” by the move of the Holy Spirit. This day is officially my spiritual birthday! Thank you, Jesus!
May the following statements taken from “Daily in Christ” by Neil Anderson, allow the truth of God’s Word to saturate your heart and guide your steps into the new year. (Scriptures taken from the New American Standard Bible).
I recognize that there is only one true and living God (Exodus 20:2,3,), who exists as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and that He is worthy of all honor, praise, and worship as the Creator, Sustainer, and Beginning and End of all things (Revelation 4:11; 5:9,10; Isaiah 43:1, 7, 21,).
I recognize Jesus Christ as the Messiah, the Word who became flesh and dwelt among us (John 1:1, 14). I believe that He came to destroy the works of Satan (1 Johne 3:8), that He disarmed the rulers and authorities, having triumphed over them (Colossians 2:15).
I believe that God has proved His love for me, because when I was still a sinner Christ died for me (Romans 5:8). I believe that He delivered me from the domain of darkness and transferred me to His kingdom, and in Him I have redemption, the forgiveness of sins (Colossians 1:13,14).
I believe that I am now a child of God (1 John 3:1 – 3). I believe that I was saved by the grace of God through faith, that it was a gift and not the result of any works on my part (Ephesians 2:8).
I choose to be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might (Ephesians 6:10). I put no confidence in the flesh (Philippians 3:3), for the weapons of my warfare are not of the flesh (2 Corinthians 10:4). I put on the whole armor of God (Ephesians 6:10 – 17), and I resolve to stand firm in my faith and resist the evil one.
I believe that Jesus has all authority in heaven and on earth (Matthew 28:18), and that He is the head over all rule and authority (Colossians 2:10). I believe that Satan and his demons are subject to me in Christ because I am a member of Christ’s body (Ephesians 1:19 -23). I therefore obey the command to resist the devil (James 4:7), and I command him in the name of Christ to leave my presence.
I believe that apart from Christ I can do nothing (John 15:5), so I declare my dependence on Him. I choose to abide in Christ in order to bear much fruit and glorify the Lord (John 15:8). I announce to Satan that Jesus is my Lord (1 Corinthians 12:3), and I reject any counterfeit gifts or works of Satan in my life.
I believe that the truth will set me free (John 8:31), and that walking in the light is the only path of fellowship (1 John 1:7). Therefore, I stand against Satan’s deception by taking every thought captive in obedience to Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). I declare that the Bible is the only authoritative standard (2 Timothy 3:15 – 17). I choose to speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15).
I choose to present my body as an instrument of righteousness, a living and holy sacrifice, and I renew my mind by the living Word of God in order that I may prove that the will of God is good, acceptable, and perfect (Romans 6:13; 12:1,2).
Lord, inscribe on my heart the truth of who You are and what You have done to secure my eternal salvation.
Father God, I affirm that my life and sustenance come from You, and apart from You I can nothing.
I think it would be safe to say and bears repeating; that no other persons’ life or death in the history of the world has been more scrutinized, studied, debated, or analyzed than Jesus Christ. His resurrection was a supernatural miracle, and Christianity was based on this central claim of the resurrection of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
According to the Apostle Paul, “And if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins.” (1 Corinthians 15:17) (New King James Bible).
Jesus is known by many different names. Here are just a few.
The Alpha and the Omega, the Almighty, the Bread of Life, The Bright and Morning Star, the Christ, the Creator, the Cornerstone, Immanuel, the Prince of Peace, the Word, Yeshua, the Son of God, the King of Kings and Lord of Lord, the Great Physician, the Passover Lamb, the Son of Righteousness.
Jesus is the great I AM. Jesus is alive today, and He desires a personal relationship with everyone. We all have a need for Jesus, whether we want to believe that or not. There is a vacuum within our hearts that can only be filled and satisfied by the love of Jesus. He is holy, without spot or blemish; and He came to rescue all of mankind.
Dear Readers, my earnest desire for you is to know Jesus and make Him the Lord and Savior of your life. If this is also your heart’s desire for 2026, please recite the following Sinner’s Prayer, by the late Billy Graham.
“Dear God,
I know I’m a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe Jesus Christ is Your Son. I believe that He died for my sins and that you raised Him to life. I want to trust Him as my Savior and Lord, from this day forward. Guide my life and help me to do your will. I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.”
If you have just prayed this prayer, I want to welcome you into the family of faith. When you take your last breath, your soul will spend eternity with Almighty God in heave.
