Only a Real Risk Tests the Reality of a Belief~ C. S. Lewis

In the movie series GOD’S NOT DEAD, one of the storylines centers around a proclaimed atheist Philosophy college professor, who plans to forego “dusty arguments” in his classroom. He does this by insisting his new students write down on a piece of paper “God is dead,” sign it, and turn it in.

However, there was one student who refused to do this. The professor became rather annoyed by his refusal to comply and challenged him to defend his stance on the existence of God in front of the class. Due to the professor’s professed bias on the matter, the student suggested in all fairness, that his classmates be tasked with determining the ultimate judgment, and the professor agreed.

Many people in this student’s life, including his parents and girlfriend, did not want him to pursue this challenge. They all agreed that he should just drop the class and move on, but he would not.

On a weekly basis, this courageous young man would take his place behind the podium and make his case for the existence of God.

When a fellow student asked him why he was doing this? The young man simply replied, “because Jesus is my friend.”

This young man chose to live for an audience of one, instead of following the crowd.

In a biblical context, a “risk-taker” is an individual who demonstrates faith by acting despite uncertainty, trusting solely in God’s provision and guidance, rather than avoiding potential loss or fear. They are willing to face the challenge head on because of their faith and trust in God.

At the completion of this student’s argument, one by one, his classmates began standing up and uttered their final verdict with these words… GOD’S NOT DEAD!

Sometimes, it just takes one person of courage to make a difference. Are you willing to be that person? Are you willing to take a stand against the opposition of what you truly believe in?

America’s survival as a Christian nation is being challenged daily with both counterfeit Christians, and wicked ideologies that want to replace and eliminate our Judea-Christian values.

Evil is running rampant in our society, and it will take BOLD and COURAGEOUS RISK-TAKERS to stand up against these hostilities and be that voice of reason and truth.

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
