We Have A Voting Crisis In Our Elections…Too Many Christians Gone AWOL!

America is a Constitutional Representative Republic. The lack of participation in our country's elections is truly unacceptable.

Buckle up! This intentional lack of participation in our elections is truly unacceptable. If you are a legal, American citizen, it is your duty, obligation, and responsibility to get registered and VOTE! (If you do not know the meaning of these words: duty, obligation, or responsibility, please look them up!)

If the Founding Fathers had not given us a representative, constitutional Republic, but rather a monarchy, democracy or dictatorship, I could fully understand your lack of engagement. However, they did not!

After searching the Scriptures, they chose to give us a constitution that was laid in the Word of God. To live in a country that offered both liberty and freedom was exactly what they desired for themselves and for this new nation. “Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” Second Corinthians 3:17.

And they also knew, that if they honored God and put Him first place in their lives and in our new nation, that we would be blessed and prosperous.

When you walk into the voting booth, please adhere to these important standards and vote the BIBLE.

Here’s the criteria for you to follow… “Moreover, you shall select from all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them to be rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.” Exodus 18:21.

The election of unprincipled men produces misery and tyranny, but godly rulers bring peace, prosperity, and justice.

The following quotes by Noah Webster and President James A. Garfield address these issues with both clarity and boldness.

Let’s begin with Noah Webster, as he shares his wisdom about unprincipled men in office.

“Let it be impressed on your mind that God commands you to choose for yourselves rulers, ‘just men who rule in the fear of God.’ The preservation of a republican government depends on the faithful discharge of this duty; if the citizens neglect their duty and place unprincipled men in office, the government will soon be corrupted; laws will be made, not for the public good, so much as for selfish or local purposes; corrupt for the public incompetent men will be appointed to execute the laws; the public revenues will be squandered on unworthy men; and the rights of the citizens will be violated or disregarded. If a republican government fails to secure public prosperity and happiness, it must be because the citizens neglect the divine commands, and elect bad men, to make and administer the laws.”

Next, is President James A. Garfield, (a gospel minister in the Second Great Awaking) as he bluntly affirms his convictions on the matter.

“Now more than ever before, the people are responsible for the character of their Congress. If that body is ignorant, reckless, and corrupt, it is because the people tolerate ignorance, recklessness, and corruption. If it be intelligent, brave, and pure, it is because the people demand these high qualities to represent them in the national legislature…

If the next centennial does not find us a great nation, with a great and worthy Congress, it will be because those who represent the enterprise, the culture, and the morality of the nation do not aid in controlling the political process.

Our early American statesmen were wise beyond their years. If they were able to return to present-day America, they would see just how certain and true their words were.

The reason they were so certain in their remarks was because of their devotion to reading the Scriptures.

“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he mediates day and night.” Psalm 1:1

In America’s early infancy, the pastors were known as the Black Robe Regiment. They were the driving force behind imparting the infallible Word of God on every issue to their congregations. Pastors played a critical role in teaching how faith should take an active role in politics.

Not only did they preach the gospel of Jesus Christ on Sunday, they also reported to duty when needed. No topic was off limits with them. Every election cycle, Election sermons were delivered like clockwork. From their pulpits they would share the names of the candidates and their political platforms.

The views shared by our early statesmen about one’s vote is rather remarkable and needs to become front and center in the minds of every citizen of America.

Samuel Adams so reverently stated,

Yes dear readers, our vote is that sacred and important!

As a Christian, if you put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ, then you should never align yourself with an anti-God political platform. If you decide to vote for a candidate that supports abortion, you have just become an accomplice to murder. This is not political; it is BIBILCAL! By default, you also made a conscious and deliberate contribution to the moral decay of America, and you will be held accountable. Not my words, but His.

Please remember this…your vote will either honor God or your vote will reject Him…choose wisely.

In conclusion, my final quote concerning voting comes from The Reverend Charles Finney who was a leader in the Second and Third Great Awakenings during the 1800's. In my humble opinion, this is an important warning to all Christians who refuse to vote and to all pastors who refuse to discuss politics with their flock. This quote takes away all the EXCUSES!

MIC DROP!

Within this quote, politics was mentioned four times! Not once, but for four. Apparently, voting is important to God, and it should be to you!

If any pastors are reading this and still refuse to equip your flock with the candidates’ political platforms; and continue to embrace immoral behaviors that are inverted, perverted, and counterfeit to the Word of God, your reign of terror in the pulpit will not be tolerated. Heed the warning!

“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.”

Galatians 6:7

“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He has chosen as His own inheritance.” Psalm 33:12.

“An unjust man is an abomination to the righteous, and he who is upright in the way is an abomination to the wicked.”

Proverbs 29:27

“Let each citizen remember at the moment he is offering his vote that he is NOT making a present or a compliment to please an individual or at least he ought not so to do; that he is executing one of the most solemn trusts in human society for which he is accountable to God and country.”

“I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore, choose life, that both you and your descendants may live.” Deuteronomy 30:19

“The Church must take right ground in regard to politics…The time has come that Christians must vote for honest men and take consistent ground in politics…Christians have been exceedingly guilty in this matter. But the time has come when they must act differently… God cannot sustain this free and blessed country which we love and pray for unless the Church takes right ground…It seems sometimes as if the foundations of the nation are becoming rotten and Christians seem to act as if they think God does not see what they do in politics. But I tell you He does see it, and He will bless or curse this nation according to the course Christians take in politics.”
